Rodney Harris is a native of Pocahontas, Arkansas, in rural Northeast Arkansas. Rodney serves as the Department of History and Political Science chair at Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. WBU is a Christian Liberal Arts College. He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Rodney specializes in political history, contemporary politics, and Southern history and culture.

About Me

Rodney wrote his dissertation, Arkansas’s Divided Democracy: The Making of the Constitution of 1874, is the only full-length study of the 1874 Arkansas redeemer constitution that still governs Arkansas. He is one of a small handful of Arkansas constitutional scholars and, as such, Rodney regularly consults on issues involving the Constitution and often addresses groups about the Constitution, such as taking part in the Civics Education, Humanities, and Our Founding Documents series in conjunction with the...
